Effective immediately, Certificates of Eligibility will no longer display a veteran’s date of birth. This change was made to limit the amount of personal data being displayed on Certificates of Eligibility. Please note, however, that veterans will still need to provide their date of birth when submitting an application for a determination of eligibility in order to process their request. |

How to request a Certificate of Eligibility for VA
Home Loan Benefits
To request a Certificate of Eligibility for VA home
loan benefits, you must complete
VA Form 26-1880
and submit it to our VA Eligibility Center along
with acceptable proof of service as described on the
instruction page of the form.
It's also possible to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility from your lender. Most lenders have access to the Web LGY system. This Internet based application can establish eligibility and issue an online Certificate of Eligibility in a matter of seconds. Not all cases can be processed through Web LGY - only those for which VA has sufficient data in our records. However, veterans are encouraged to ask their lenders about this method of obtaining a certificate.
